A feast for an important event: graduation time!

This past week was the PhD defense of my friend. She stayed at our home for 5 days and I prepared all different menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I made a delicious cake to celebrate this important event!

Roasted Garlic Stuffed Chicken, Beet Gnocchi, Fried Sage

Graduation breakfast: Whole Wheat homemade bread, soft-boiled eggs, goat cheese

Peanut Butter and Jelly are added for an American twist

Saffron aioli and slices of cheese are added for a Spanish twist

Strawberry and Banana "Licuado" is added for a Mexican twist

Orecchiette with Homemade Lamb Sausage, Goat Cheese, Fresh Corn

Boston Cream Pie with Homemade Chocolate Sorbet, Hazelnuts

The filling of the Boston Cream Pie is amazing!

The chocolate sorbet is so silky and soft.

Chicken Tapenade Sandwich, Californian style (with avocado)

Peanut Butter Icebox Cookies are excellent complement to the choco sorbet

The Best Prosciutto Pizza: Roasted Mushrooms with Shallots, Cheeses, Garlic, and Thyme

My tiramisu with chocolate bark is great for company

Broiled rainbow trout with rosemary and garlic. Served with oven fries, saffron aioli, and ketchup

Espresso for dessert. Such a good tradition!

Orecchiette Salad with Roasted Summer Squash, Balsamic Vinaigrette, Cherry Tomatoes, Goat Cheese

My friend will enjoy some roasted fennel and garbanzos soup!

The fennel fronds are used for a centerpiece. Nothing goes to waste in my kitchen.

Elegant and rustic table setting

These green napkins are perfect for Spring dinners!

Spearmint Iced Tea complements our Moroccan dinner

Easter Pot is a great decoration for my festive table

Amuse-bouche: Lamb mini burger with saffron aioli and fried sage

Quinoa with Fresh Corn, Pork Chops with Pistachio-Mustard Pesto

I love to announce what is for dinner!

The black slate elevates the setting!

Place the utensils on the diagonal and you will have a modern dinner table

These bowls are so colorful and interesting

The tablecloth is from my grandmother: pretty and sofisticated

The wine glasses are purple, thus adding more fun!

Cream of carrot soup with herbed goat cheese :)

Sweet Challah bread, yogurt sauce, lamb koftes, fried sage!

Casarecce with Pork and Fennel Ragu

What is best than tiramisu paired with espresso and chocolate bark?

Beef and butternut squash tagine!

Red wine complemented beautifully the sweetness of the tagine!

Carrot and Parsnip Soup with Prosciutto Crisps and Goat Cheese mixed with herbs

Ricotta Blintzes with Fresh Mango, Banana, and Strawberries

We try to eat different meals each night

I used special graduation napkins for the Defense Party!

I made a delicious Boston Cream Pie covered with chocolate frosting

I put "Congrats" on the top, to celebrate the Defense of my friend!

I served dinner and a whole ciabatta loaf. It was super tasty!
